Bill Griffith's is a gentle humour. You cannot belly laugh at his stuff. His targets are modern life and consumerism. His tools are Zippy the Pinhead (an eternal child idiot savant, Louis the Toad, Claude the ordinary working stiff and a couple of cardboard cutouts. Whenever he tired of them he portrays surreal conversations between Alfred Jarry and Timothy Leary.
