Jill Bioscop from Bilal's "Woman Trap"

In "The Woman Trap" - itself a continuation of a story called "Gods in Chaos" - we encounter Jill Bioscop who is transmitting messages from the year 2025 into the past using a script walker. She is by turns lucid, delusional and psychotic. This is because she has failed to take her medication. The chief manifestation of this delusion is that she imagines she has violently murdered all the lovers she takes back to her apartment.

Bilal's "The Hunting Party"

"The Hunting Party" is set in the old Soviet Union and is about a hunting trip made by top party members in the company of their leader Vassili Chevchenko.

Chevchenko is old and ill but still exerts a grim power over his colleagues. He can no longer talk but his past life and ruthlessness is conveyed via anecdote and his own silent memories. This is a sort of "Citizen Kane" piece as Chevchenko remembers that he had his own lover killed.

This is the best Bilal with its effective use of the imagery of death.
